How to use

  1. Choose pyeong → m² or m² → pyeong.
  2. Enter the area. Decimals are allowed.
  3. Read the result, rounded to two decimal places.

How it works

One pyeong is the area of a square 6 ja on each side. One ja is 10/33 m, so one pyeong = (6 × 10/33)² = 400/121 m² ≈ 3.305785 m².

Pyeong → m²: pyeong × 400 ÷ 121.

m² → pyeong: m² × 121 ÷ 400, the same as multiplying by about 0.3025.

Results are rounded to two decimal places.

Example

Thirty pyeong is 30 × 400 ÷ 121 ≈ 99.17 m². An apartment with 84 m² of exclusive area is 84 × 121 ÷ 400 = 25.41 pyeong, and 59 m² is about 17.85 pyeong.

For a quick estimate, multiply pyeong by 3.3 or square meters by 0.3, but the error grows with larger areas.
